Application

The synchronising plug and socket is used as an interlock system which ensures safe operation during procedures such as switching, synchronising and voltage selection.  A six contact system with four coding pins is used.  The combination of male and female coding pins provides a series of 14 non-interchangeable socket sets.  The socket will accept plug type SPS100B which provides up to 3 links giving 22 different arrangements of connections for linking adjacent plug pins.  In addition, the socket will accept a cable entry plug type SPS106B which can accommodate up to six core + earth umbilical cable for purposes such as remote switching or connection to synchronising trolleys.

Sockets

Suitable for bulkhead mounting, each socket comprises a powder coated die-cast aluminium housing with a locking lever and a polycarbonate insulated moulding which accommodates six silver plated copper alloy contacts.  Each contact has a screw terminal at the rear which can accommodate 0.75 mm2 - 2.5 mm2 cable.  The contact assembly is mounted in the housing with four coding pins to provide alternative interlocking positions or can be supplied without coding pins.
